Water Dogs
Get a copy of my new novel!
My debut novel, Water Dogs, is now available from Amazon and will be at Barnes and Noble August 8.
This is humorous young adult speculative fiction. But it’s also a fictionalized memoir, and one of the protagonists, Eric, suffers from OCD. I used my childhood memories of my debilitating OCD to inform the character, and I imagine that anyone who suffers from OCD will find it familiar. Hopefully, it’s also inspiring, since Eric is functional despite his OCD, and as regular readers of this blog know, he will eventually cure himself.
Here’s the blurb I put on Amazon:
1970s midwest punk rock teenagers gain superpowers and save the universe with the help of underwater dogs!
When blobs from between universes devour everything in their paths, adults are useless. The only hope for survival is a small group of midwest kids who refuse to follow the rules.
Moving from middle school to high school, the whole world is changing in 1979: music, clothes, school.… In fact, the entire universe is about to change, and they will be at the center of it all.
Only an outsider can see what’s really going on in the world. This is the story of outsiders who reject expectations and embark through time and space in the greatest adventure ever known. And none of it would be possible without beings they meet from other times and dimensions and the friendship of dogs who live underwater.
Water Dogs, winner of the Pleiades Prize for Best Thing, was originally written in smells by an alien from the future and is now available translated into words by Eric Gordon. It is the most comprehensive and accurate depiction of the human inhabitants of planet Earth ever written and so emotionally impactful that it is said to cause the sprunga trees of Notgnimoolb to spontaneously combust (it is their way of defoliating and it feels great, so don’t hesitate to read it aloud to them).
So, please check out my book at Amazon or Barnes and Noble. It’s also available as an eBook.
