OCD and the Singularity

Once upon a time, everything: all matter and energy, or rather the potential for all future matter and energy, coexisted in a singularity. The Big Bang shredded us apart in space and time, but we remain one universe. I think that on a deep, subconscious level, we, as sentient matter and energy, seek reunification with all that is. We long for the singularity when there was no differentiation between any aspect of the universe. Our souls were one soul.

When you feel closer to that that singularity — when you feel connected to everyone and everything in the universe — you feel more at peace. To approach that state, you have to let distracting thoughts go. And there are no thoughts more distracting than those generated by OCD.

Not only are we connected to all that currently is, but we are connected to all possibilities. If you want to manifest a certain outcome, it can happen more easily of you can see that outcome as already existing and see yourself as part of that outcome.

So it follows that conquering OCD can help you realize your dreams and is a prerequisite for the peace of mind that one can achieve along the path toward enlightenment. There are some well-stablished methods to calm intrusive and unwanted repetitive thoughts. Meditation is a practice to help you let those thoughts go; you learn to witness the thoughts and let them pass. A vigorous…
